Sample Answer 1

Here is the sample for the IELTS Cue Card “describe something that you are interested to learn more about or improve”.

• What it is

The world is progressing at a rapid speed. The more we learn, the less we seem to know. Since I consistently aim to learn new things, my list is quite extensive. However, something that is on my priority list would be coding and programming.

• How you would learn it

There are diverse reasons to learn this skill. I can either get enrolled in offline classes or participate in online courses. If none of them works out, I can self-study through various YouTube channels and forums on Google. I believe self-studying would be much more convenient for me as I will not be bound to attend classes on specific times and dates.

• Where you can learn it

On YouTube, a lot of professional coders and programmers from across the world have created channels where they offer in-depth tutorials in varying languages. Moreover, they also teach through basic tips, tricks and strategies.

• and explain why you want to keep learning it.

One of the reasons why I want to learn coding and programming is because I am contemplating switching my career. I see a huge scope in this field in the near future; thus, this skill will eventually help me to a great extent. Also, I would like to expand my skills and sharpen my mindset even more. This will be a huge help to me.

Sample Answer 2

• What it is

If there is something I want to learn more about, it would be belly dancing – an art form that originated in India. It’s also an excellent method of keeping fit and getting toned. I learnt it before when I was a teenager. At that time, I was so hectic with my study that I didn’t have enough time for this class. Now that I have finished my study, I am of temptation to learn more about it in the future.

There is a belly dance class taught by my neighbour, just 500 meters from my house. Thus, it is very convenient for me to go there. This class is not very big or famous but it’s warm, and cosy with a lot of friendly people, which can motivate me to practise this kind of dance. The facilities are not expensive but always in good condition, and the teacher is warm-hearted, qualified and experienced. When she was young, she was very popular for her excellent belly dance performance. After having babies, she decided to alter her job to teach at home. I haven’t gone to class for a long time, but she still remembers me and often smiles at me every time I pass by the class.

Belly dance is not only an art of body movements but also an effective way to improve my balance and flexibility. As I grow older, I am fully aware that keeping fit is very important. Moreover, belly dance, with magnificent costumes, and beautiful music can help me relax after a long working day. For those above reasons, I am really looking forward to being able to learn more down the road.
