While at it, I have to be honest with you. I am not an early bird. Whenever possible, I prefer sleeping in. Moreover, since my job doesn’t need me to be up early, I rarely get up before 6 AM. When talking about sharing an incident where I got up extremely early in the morning, it happened a couple of months back when I was with my family, and we were going to Bali for a vacation.

All of the family members had divided responsibilities. While my mother took care of food, my dad was in charge of hotel bookings. My sister was liable for packing, and I had to book flight tickets. Unfortunately, it was rush hour, and I got tickets with much difficulty. The tickets were for 5 AM, and thus, we had to get up at 3 AM.

At first, I was a bit apprehensive as I had never woken up at this early hour. However, to my surprise, I was the first one to wake up. I didn’t even need an alarm. Blame it on the excitement, a heavy sleeper like me could not stay in bed for more than two hours.

At last, we reached the airport on time and boarded the flight. We all had a blast on this vacation. I really felt rejuvenated waking up this early. However, I don’t think I would be able to implement this habit in my everyday lifestyle unless I am vacationing every single day.

Like many other young people, I don’t have the habit of waking up early every day; only for special occasions. Last weekend, my friends and I decided to go on a trip to the mountainous area of my country called the Panjshir Valley. We had to leave very early in the morning so that we didn’t get stuck in the traffic. We would also get to spend more time there.

It wasn’t easy to get up early in the morning. I was so excited about the trip that I barely slept that night. I had never been to this place before. It is located in the northern part of my country, so I knew that we faced a long drive ahead. We decided to go by car since, that way, all 5 of us could travel together. Moreover, everyone reckoned that it would be safer than going by motorbike. Waking up early did not feel that bad at all, even though it was the first time I had done so in many months. To begin with, I felt a bit sleepy, but then the pure morning air changed it completely.

After 5 hours of driving, we arrived at our destination. We were amazed to see a vast land filled with yellow colour terraced rice fields, ready to be harvested. Under the sunlight, these rice fields sparkled like gold. We stayed for one night with a local host and helped the family with their regular tasks before setting out for home the next day. It was such an amazing trip, and it helped us to learn more about the countryside and the way of life of those who live there. I’d love to make more trips like that in the future.
