Sample Answer 1
Here is the sample answer for the IELTS Cue Card “Describe an article you read in a magazine or on the internet about healthy living”.
- Where did you read it (which magazine or website)?
I enjoy reading hooking articles, regardless of the medium. Recently, I came across an article in a newspaper, and I’d like to mention it. The title of the article was “Health is Wealth.” Although I had read a lot of articles and content pieces with the same tagline, this one attracted me the most because it had an enthralling picture. Anyway, the article was written by one of the famous nutritionists – Mrs Priya Verma. So, I thought of giving it a read.
- What the article was about?
In the article, she spoke about one of the prevalent concerns, which is obesity. The fact that people of every age group are gaining weight is perhaps what is alarming the most. Since I am dealing with the same issue, I found the information extremely relevant. I was highly impressed with the way the author presented the information. A lot of factual data and examples were shared to make it easier for readers to comprehend the gravity of the situation.
- And explain what you learned/thought from the article?
The writer has emphasised the sedentary lifestyle that people are living, their poor eating habits and the wrong choices that make up their lifestyle. Fortunately, the article also had some solutions to get out of this issue. Right from a brisk walk in the morning to remain active throughout the day, there were several things mentioned in the article. The writer also suggested cutting the intake of fast food and replacing the same with healthy and nutritious food items, especially fruits and green vegetables.
I found this article extremely informative, approachable and reasonable. In fact, I shared this article with several friends of mine so that they could also gain benefits from it.

When scrolling through the internet, most of the time, health-related articles grab my attention the most. Likewise, this one time I was going through something when I came across an article that talked about the advantages of drinking hot lemon water in the morning. This article was published on a website called bodyandsoul.com.au.
Generally, people have a perception of lemon water as only keeping the body hydrated during summer. However, there is a gamut of other benefits that are mostly unknown. As per this article, building a habit of starting the day with a glass of lemon water does a lot of favour to both the mind and the body.
First of all, lemon juice is one amazing source of Vitamin C. Hence, it helps in boosting immunity to fight common and unusual infections. Not just that, lemons are also good for combating early ageing signs because of their antioxidant properties. Lemon is useful in detoxifying the liver and cleaning the urinary tract.
The list of warm lemon water doesn’t end here. Lemons contain a high level of potassium that helps improve the functioning of the brain and nervous system while simultaneously controlling the levels of blood pressure.
Lemon water is also helpful in warding off depression and stress, which are the two major things associated with lower levels of potassium. As a result, this specific article suggested that if you continue to drink warm, lemon water in the morning for the minimum of 21 days, you will start noticing major differences in your skin as well as general health.
