Sample Answer 1
Irrefutably, technology has managed to bestow us umpteen bounties. And cell phones are no exception. This device has given us the leverage of being in touch with one another. However, it has its cons as well.
Somewhere last month, I used to get miscellaneous random calls from unknown numbers. Owing to this, I had to change my phone number. One time, I vividly remember receiving a phone call from somebody who seemed an acquaintance. At that time, I was travelling from my place to Delhi, and I was inside the train.
The person on the other end of the phone sounded similar to my father. Initially, he asked me random things about my day. And, thinking that he was probably my father, I answered him obediently. Instantly, he started screaming about gossip he heard from his relatives and started accusing me of spreading wrong information about him. He was talking consistently at a stretch. I stopped him in the middle and asked him to whom he wanted to speak. He uttered a bizarre, unknown name. Eventually, I told him that he had dialled the wrong number and disconnected the call.
This outlandish thing made everybody stare at me, which made me awkward, and I simply looked outside the window throughout the journey.
Sample Answer 2
We often receive calls from strangers, and most of the time, it’s not something dangerous. But there was this one time that I really thought, “well, that was close”. So one day, I was finishing my lunch in a small restaurant when I received a call from a strange number. I am a teacher so I do receive calls from strangers enquiring about my courses. I picked up and the woman on the other side said, in a serious tone: “I am from the Post Office and you have this letter from the Police notifying you to cooperate with them in a cyber gambling case.”Needless to say, I was shocked. Never had I even thought of taking part in illegal activity. So I asked her, breathlessly, what I would need to do next. She was like, if you want, I can transfer your call to the police station, then you can talk to them directly. I had nearly said yes when I caught myself wondering, “How could this post office person know so much? Are they allowed to open my letter?” So I decided to go to the post office and see the letter for myself. I found out later at the office that there was no such letter and it was a scam designed to steal money from me. It was very annoying but fortunately nothing bad happened, nothing that I know of yet anyway.
