Sample Answer
Politeness and genteel are among the most significant characteristics of any human being. One such person who is well-known in our whole group is Margaret. She is known for her suave in conversations and sophistication in her behaviour. I have known her for many years now and she has always had the same impression ever since I have known her.
She came to reside in our society in 2010 when her father was transferred to the company’s branch where my father works and hence, she became a neighbour. At first, given her coyness, we thought she must be quite arrogant and uppity. However, she was the exact opposite of what an arrogant person is.
Many times, she has proven herself to be immensely demurred and well-behaved and one such instance was back then when we were in school. So, she was a newcomer in our class and was not familiar with the dynamics of our school. As a result, she approached one of our highly petulant and belligerent teachers, who was always found angry and irked at the slightest of the issues. As expected, the teacher refuted her for being so dumb to not even knowing the basic routine of our classroom. However, we were shocked to see how she responded with extreme politeness and elegance after the teacher was done snapping at her. It was the first time in our life when we saw that teacher apologise to someone, and that too, a student of the sixth standard. This impressed upon a significant image of Margaret in my mind and since then, she has been looked upon as an epitome of grace.

Part 3 Questions
Do you think politeness is important?
Yes, I believe politeness is of immense essence, and one who is not polite in one’s ways is fundamentally an immoral person. A lack of politeness is often considered a determiner of an uncouth person.
Can you think of any examples when young children are not very polite?
Yes, one instance when I remember children were not polite was when I was travelling to my hostel back when I was in a boarding school. I saw a kid sitting next to me with his parents. The boy’s parents were so humble and friendly to him. However, he kept on being impertinent with his parents. It was such an unpleasant scene.
Do you think you are a polite person?
Well, I would like to believe that I am. People often make this remark about me whenever I talk to them, and my family and friends often consider me to be a polite and civilised human being.
How do you show politeness?
My way of politeness does not involve doing blandishments of someone or lying to someone in order to please them. Instead, I choose to be polite with my honest answers and put them across most humbly or courteously.
