Sample Essay
The 21st century has seen several significant global events occur in various places. Sports competitions are one such event that is rapidly gaining popularity, particularly among young people in affluent countries. In the following paragraphs, I shall discuss both views and provide my viewpoints.
On the one hand, the inhabitants of the hosting nation will feel more patriotic since they will be pleased to see their nation make international news during the entire event. For instance, every day in practically all forms of media, including newspapers, television, and the internet, the term “Brazil” was present when Brazil hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2005. Additionally, the prize might be presented to the victors by the nation’s top leaders. Second, the young of the host nation will be inspired to play the game locally and actively endeavor to do so. As a result, more people may develop their sports potential and eventually be able to represent their country. For instance, after India hosted the cricket World Cup in 2000, the percentage of people who play the game rose by 10%. As a result, a nation may choose its top athletes from a large pool of athletes.
On the other hand, from the beginning to the completion of the program, there are security dangers, particularly from terrorists or adversaries. Spending a lot of money to keep the military on duty around the clock is necessary to guarantee that the country is entirely under control. Brazil spent $25 million in 2005 to ensure the nation was safe. Additionally, this money might be utilized to help the world’s hungry, particularly in Africa. As a result, some people favor this viewpoint.
To sum up, I absolutely believe that holding international athletic events is beneficial for both the hosting country and the attending countries, despite the fact that I recognise that significant financial resources must be spent on safety measures. International athletic events should be conducted on a regular basis every year to spread love and peace.
