Band 7 Sample Answer for Writing Task 1 Question – Write a Letter to the Mayor of Your City
Dear Mayor,
I am writing this letter to bring to your attention a concerning issue in our Kalyan Nagar locality. Here, a group of adolescents have been letting their dogs run freely without any supervision in the local park. This not only disrupts the peace of the pedestrians but also serves to be dangerous to other residents and their pets.
To mention, many incidents like this have occurred where these dogs have aggressively approached children and elderly individuals, causing fear within all of us. Moreover, these dogs have littered the locality too much and this has not been cleaned up by the owners as well. Their lack of responsibility is creating an unsafe and unhygienic environment for their fellow neighbors.
I kindly request that the officials take immediate action to address this problem and provide our residents with a solution as soon as possible to bring back our peace and harmony. I kindly look forward to your prompt action.
Yours sincerely,
Reeta Sen

Band 8 Sample Answer for Writing Task 1 Question – Write a Letter to the Mayor of Your City
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to tell you about a problem in my neighborhood that we face with some teenagers who are letting their dogs run loose. My fellow neighbors are also very much worried that someone might get hurt due to this happening.
Recently, I have seen a few teenagers in our locality, with dogs that are not on leashes. These dogs look fierce and are not that much trained. They run around the neighborhood, which scares many people, especially children and the elderly. I am afraid it is only a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured.
The teenagers have been asked by many residents to control their dogs, but they ignore these requests and they do not seem to understand the dangers of letting their dogs run loose and do not care about the situation.
I believe that necessary action should be taken quickly by the respective officials to stop this potential threat. Please investigate this issue and take steps to make our neighborhood safe again.
Yours faithfully,
Shrinivas Sinha

Band 9 Sample Answer for Writing Task 1 Question – Write a Letter to the Mayor of Your City
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a resident of the KK Nagar locality writing to express my concern about an issue that has recently begun in our neighborhood. Certain youngsters have been recently allowing their dogs to run loose in our community park making it inconvenient for the other residents to visit the park to enjoy their leisure time.
Yesterday, I personally witnessed a dog running behind a toddler and the child was so scared that he started crying nonstop. Fortunately, the child was not seriously injured, as his aunt came to his rescue and picked him up, shooing away the furious dog. Additionally, these dogs often frighten smaller pets and disrupt the peaceful environment that many residents seek when visiting the park.
To prevent any serious future accidents and ensure the park remains a safe place for everyone, I urge the responsible officials to enforce stricter rules regarding pet control and increase monitoring of the youth to completely avoid this situation in our locality. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I trust that the officials will take the necessary steps as soon as possible.
Yours Truthfully,
Ben Johnson
