Band 7 Sample Answer For Writing Task 1 Question – How Orange Juice is Produced
The diagram illustrates the manufacturing process of orange juice, from the original fruit to the fresh juice sold in the supermarket. Overall, the images depict a linear sequence of juice production, divided into three main parts: orange extraction, canning, and delivery.
Specifically, fresh oranges are transported to factories and undergo washing before being processed in extraction machines. Following extraction, the solid waste from oranges is repurposed as animal feed, while the fresh juice is either packaged for direct sale or loaded onto refrigerated trucks for transportation.
During transit, the juice undergoes an evaporation process to produce concentrated juice, which is then canned. The canned juice is subsequently stored in warehouses before being transported to a facility where it is reconstituted by adding water.
Once the reconstitution process is complete, the liquid is bottled and finally made available for sale in shops as orange juice. This sequential process ensures the efficient production and distribution of high-quality orange juice to consumers.

Band 8 Sample Answer For Writing Task 1 Question – How Orange Juice is Produced
The flow chart illustrates the step-by-step process of making concentrated, fresh orange juice that is intended for supermarket retail. In general, this process is divided into three main phases – making fresh orange juice and delivering it to supermarkets; concentrating the fresh juice for storage; and then making reconstituted orange juice that is sold to customers.
The procedure starts with the transportation of fresh oranges to a plant, where the unprocessed fruit is thoroughly cleaned before its juice is extracted. Animal feed is made from any leftover solid waste. The newly extracted juice is now either packaged for direct delivery to supermarkets for retail sale or sent out in chilled trucks for evaporation.
After this first stage, the juice is evaporated at a different facility, which removes water to produce concentrated orange juice. The concentrated juice is then canned and kept for later use in a warehouse. The stored orange concentrate is moved to a third factory if additional processing is required. Finally, at the assigned plant, the concentrated juice is reconstituted by blending it with water. After that, the reconstituted orange juice is bottled and sent to supermarkets so that customers can purchase it.

Unlock Band 9 Answers
Overall, the entire procedure comprises 17 distinct steps categorized into three main stages: the production and transportation of fresh orange juice to supermarkets, the processing of fresh juice to create concentrated juice, and the eventual production of reconstituted orange juice for public consumption.
Initiating the process, fresh oranges are delivered to a factory, where they undergo meticulous washing and juice extraction. The surplus solid waste generated during this phase is repurposed as animal feed. Subsequently, the freshly extracted orange juice may either be transported to supermarkets in refrigerated trucks or undergo further processing to produce concentrated juice for storage.
In the second phase, the fresh orange juice undergoes the evaporation process that occurs at a separate facility. Here, water is extracted from the juice, yielding a highly concentrated product. This concentrated juice is then canned and stored in a warehouse until required for subsequent processing.
Finally, the concentrated juice is diluted with water to create reconstituted orange juice at a distinct plant. Following that, the resultant product is then packaged and transported to supermarkets for retail.
