We typically receive presents on a variety of occasions, such as birthdays, holidays, and significant life events, but we only recall a few of them because of the special person who gave them to us and the particular occasion on which they were received.

First of all, gifts encourage us to pursue our objectives in life. For instance, I recall getting my first wristwatch after I scored a good score on my final board exam. I put a lot of effort into my studies and also got admitted to one of the top colleges in the city. This recognition from my parents motivates me to work towards my objectives and gives me energy when I’m down because of a setback. Also, it gives me a sense of attachment with them. When they are not with me, this watch gives me the impression that they are and always will be with me.

Again, certain gifts keep individuals bound together for life. For example, for my birthday in my final year of college, I received a bicycle from my roommates. Although they have moved to various parts of the world now, this gift has allowed me to stay in touch with them. Every time I see it, I am reminded of my time in college and the adventures we had with that bicycle.

We receive numerous gifts on various occasions throughout our lives. We view some of these as distinct treasures since they hold special meaning for us. I’ll dive into more detail about why I think people value unique gifts in the paragraphs that follow.

To begin with, gifts are important in our lives because they are intended to express affection and concern. Receiving a gift on a memorable day is sufficient, regardless of its cost. For example, my grandfather gave me a fountain pen when I got admitted to college. Even though I rarely use it, I carry it with me for every special exam as I feel it is my grandfather’s blessing.

Additionally, specific presents are rewarded for acting honorably or commendably, so individuals cherish those presents for a very long time. For instance, in school, the teachers rewarded us for doing well in our studies with chocolates and handwritten notes. I still have those notes, which motivate me to do well. Moreover, we always remember the various presents we have received from the people we love and care about. I started teaching junior class students in high school and earned some money. So, I bought a saree for my mother and a shirt for my father. I recall how overwhelmed they were, and they enveloped me in a joyous embrace. Still, both of them claim that it is the most priceless one they have ever received and cherish it.

To conclude, gifts are significant because they symbolize affection and gratitude or are presented by someone special on special occasions. So, it is crucial to express our thankfulness and happiness to the people in our lives who have a particular place in our hearts by giving them presents. (288 words)
